Sharing our journey of Mumbai to Ganpatipule Road Trip on Bike with entire Journey Clicks, Videos, Route and Best Destinations to Stay.

Why this Trip ?

Learning about the Western Ghats being UNESCO world heritage site and also one of the eight hotspots of biological diversity in the world fascinated me to visit Konkan on the motorcycle starting from Mumbai to Ganpatipule Road Trip which will be the first part of this journey.

If you love riding and wish to explore the nature then Konkan coast is the best destination.
On the way one can come across the forts, temples, small creeks, rivers and restaurants which serves delicious sea food.

The most popular attractions along the Konkan coast are the clean sandy beaches, the turquoise waters, the slender tall palm trees swaying with the breeze and pitched roof houses with clean courtyards add a quaint touch to the panorama.
The coastline is dotted with the lush greenery and foliage which makes one feel connected with nature and calm your spirits.

Mumbai to Konkan Journey Morning Ride
6 AM at Mumbai

Our Journey started from Mumbai (Bhandup) at 6 am and we took first 10 minutes stop at Panvel for all friends to gather and start the journey together. It was about 7 am at Panvel and we took a turn to Mumbai โ€“ Goa highway. It was a misty weather and slowly the sky started giving the signals of the Sunrise and suddenly through the fog we spotted the sun and it was totally captivating to watch the sun with a natural white filter on it.

Crossing karnala bird sanctuary gave us first experience of riding all way through the forest where we got to see a troop of monkeys. We took a route of Karnala-Pen-Kolad-Mangaon.

We were surrounded by foggy weather, it was like we were entering into the clouds to find our destination. By capturing all the moments on this road into our heart, we continued this foggy and cold wind ride.

Our first proper stop at Nagothane for breakfast after completing 100 kms from Mumbai at 9 am. After having breakfast for half an hour we continued our journey for more 70 kms for fuel stop. Filled up the petrol tank in our motorcycles at Mahad petrol pump after completing total 170 kms of journey from Mumbai.

After 50 kms more, we had a sugarcane juice on the way at Khed. Riding all the way about 82 kms on pothole-ridden highways and on curvy mountainous roads we took the next stop at Sangameshwar for some evening snacks at 4 pm (No Lunch Break in between). At Sangameshwar we again filled up our petrol tanks after completing total 300 kms from Mumbai.

Our body was about to give up after 300 kms but mind was like “Do it now, the Nature’s Beauty is almost there, waiting for you!” From there we headed without any stops in between except for water.

After so much struggle on ghat roads in dark after 6 pm without any street lights by maintaining 50-60 kmph speed, we finally reached our destination Bapat Home Stay – Ganpatipule at 8 pm.ย

On the way we got to see the old temples and also a place with hot water spring pools by the road side which caught the tourist attraction. We wished to see the sunset by the Ganpatipule beach by reaching early but unfortunately we were late. Nonetheless the nature didnโ€™t disappointed us and we got to see a beautiful sunset all the way with the sun hiding in between the Sahyadri mountains.

It took us almost 14 hours with almost 350 kms ride. We halted at a Bapat Home stay which was within a km of the Ganesha temple. We freshen up ourselves and had our dinner and planned for the second day.

I was feeling the beauty of Konkan!
